Taking a stand
Comic Book Industry's rise up!
After years of comic book companies being suppressed, Marvel, one of the most successful comic book industry decided to take a stand for themselves and continue to publish with or without the comics code approval. With Marvel leaving the Comics Code Authority behind, many other comic publishers decided to follow their lead. The choice that Marvel made by leaving the comic code authority was a right choice because it censored and limited comic publishers and their rights. It would have been a great code if it had not limited comic books to the point of them running out of business because the code was too strict. If the Comics Code Authority were to exist today, we would not be able to indulge in many of the creative, stunning, and enjoyable comics we have to this day. Great thanks to Marvel and the rest of the comic book companies that followed because we now can read such great content and all because they decided to take a stand.
The end of the Comic Code Authority
When Marvel comics stopped submitting and just published their comics without approval in 2001, The Comics Code Authority's influence slowly started to lessen. The regulation tried it's best to stick but no comic book company cared anymore. They continued to publish their comics no matter what. What truly brought The Comics Code Authority to an end was the last publisher of one of the comic book companies, Archie, that ran out of business due to the code. The last Archie comics publisher ended the organization once and for all. The only good thing that came out of the Comics Code Authority was that it helped the comic companies get their content together and advise the readers of their comics about what they were about to read. The Comic Code Authority truly restricted the creativity of the publishers. When the Comic Code Authority finally came to an end, all comic industries were free to let their creative minds run. The Comic Code Authority continues to be a great impact in the American culture today.
